I have a diverse experience in engineering, academic research, data science (DS) and machine learning (ML). During the mentorship program, I will do my best to listen carefully and empathetically to the mentee who may wish to advance their career in tech or switch into the field from a different career that they may find unrelated. As a person who have successfully switched their career at least twice I can help them navigate the process and how to succeed, whether that is a job promotion or changing roles to what they aspire to be, after switching into tech. I have also conducted tens of design and programming interviews for ML and DS roles at Credit Karma Inc.
I have a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering and a PhD in chemical engineering. I have two years of postdoctoral research experience in computational material science and more than four years of working as a machine learning engineers. One of my passions is developing and teaching soft skills such as communications and emotional intelligence which are so important in personal and professional life but are not emphasized enough in school or university curricula. I can help mentees find the area they wish and need to improve and provide resources and accountability so that they accomplish what they wish even if it seems out of reach at the beginning of their journey.
